Huckleberries is a Nurture Farm in Surrey that works with primary aged children to enhance their emotional well-being through facilitated therapeutic contact with animals and well-being practices such as yoga, mindfulness, journaling and art. Our aim to to equip children with a toolkit to build their resilience to help them respond to lifes challenges into their teen and adult years. Our primary aim is to help children develop skills to adjust the way they think about, react and cope with day-to-day challenges, to ease the transition into their teenage years. Our programme combines mindfulness and yoga techniques, interwoven with caring for and working with our animals. At Huckleberries we have pygmy goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, border collie and other occasionally adopted animals. Most importantly we offer ‘a place to be me’ where children feel safe to be themselves and build the resilience they need to fully embrace their teen and adult lives.
