The Bright Volunteer Fire Company proudly protects over 6000 homes, almost 2000 outbuildings and over 70 business structures in a 45 square mile area. In our service area we have 2 elementary schools, 1 intermediate school, 6 day care facilities, 9 buildings that house elderly residents and 2 community parks. We operate out of 3 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is private and all our firefighters operate on a volunteer status. Station 1 keeps two paid EMT personnel on staff 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Organized in 1948 we have consistantly grown over the years to what we proudly have today. We run a Fire and EMS system that works well for the people in our community. We border Hamilton County Ohio on the east, Franklin County Indiana in the northeast, the city of Greendale, Indiana on our southern border, Miller/York township on our west and the town of St. Leon, Indiana in the north. We respond with an engine and tanker from each station on all fire emergencies in addition to to other service equipment. The EMS unit responds on all fire calls. Our task unit and engine responds on all motor vehicle accidents for support. CO Alarms are responded to in a non-emergency mode. The Bright Volunteer Fire Company has over 50 dedicated members 15 whom are EMT’s with 4 being advanced EMT’s.
