Dulwich Hamlet Football Club
www.dulwichhamletfc.londonFounded in 1893 Dulwich Hamlet Football Club With 8 sell out attendances in Season 2021-22 & an average of over 2700 per game, The Hamlet are the best supported club outside the Football League in London . After enjoying much success in their early days and prior to the Second World War, regularly attracting several thousand to their Champion Hill Stadium even for reserve team games, the club fell into decline from the 1960s as the amateur game was left behind. However in recent years there has been a resurgence of interest in grassroots football with Dulwich Hamlet one of the main beneficiaries. From crowds of less than 300 at games the support has grown to such an extent that the last home match of 2014-2015 was declared All Ticket, a first for the club, as 3000 packed into Champion Hill to watch a 0-0 draw with Maidstone United. That growth has been driven by a variety of factors from a ticket pricing designed to attract the new young support whilst rewarding the long term die-hards to Community initiatives on the part of the Club's Board tackling issues such as Racism, Homophobia and Mental Health.
