Louisenlund is a primary school, boarding school, all-day grammar school and IB World School and thus the centre of learning and life for pupils from the region, the whole of Germany and the world. Not only good performance and sound knowledge are important to us in Louisenlund. For our students, the feeling of community, consideration for one another and assuming responsibility are of particular importance. For this reason, we offer our students two recognised degrees: The Abitur and as the first North German boarding school the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB). The Louisenlund Foundation, founded in 1949 as a state-recognised, independent grammar school, is today not only a very large boarding school in Germany with 440 pupils, it is also one of the best-known boarding schools on the European mainland. The foundation is integrated into a network of diverse international contacts and partner schools on all continents of the world. Thus the pupils of the Louisenlund Foundation spend their school years in a cosmopolitan and international environment and at the same time experience the family security of the community in Louisenlund. This all-day grammar school and boarding school in Germany is located on the Great Width of the Schlei, in the middle of the charming landscape of northern Germany. Learning is fun here. A committed and competent staff takes a lot of time for the students and implements modern teaching and learning concepts.
