Grada Pictures, LLC (GP) was founded in 2019 by Jackie Gray and Adam Elliott Davis. The name, “Grada,” is an amalgam of their last names - Gray and Davis. It turns out “grada” could also refer to a stair step or terraces, and its phonetic twin “grata” refers to a person of influence - an ambassador or emissary (as in “Persona Grata”); we are incorporating these definitions into our vision and mission for Grada Pictures as we develop a film production company that is focused on elevating the movie-going experience for global audiences, communicating rhetorical and human truth through allegory, and positioning the brand for global influence with culturally-competitive content; our brand may be considered “parables for the public.”
