St. Croix Valley Employers Association (SCVEA)
scvea.shrm.orgWelcome to the St. Croix Valley Employers Association (SCVEA) page! SCVEA hosts programs and networking opportunities, which address HR-related issues identified by our members as deserving attention. SCVEA was formed in 1979 by a small group of business leaders. The first meeting was held in February, 1980, and was attended by 42 representatives from 28 firms. The origin of the SCVEA grew out of a perceived need to develop a collection vehicle for salary information, data that would help inform local employers with regard to prevailing wage rates for a variety of job classifications. That remains a key focus for many Members. For others, the networking opportunities and/or the training on human resource-related issues are of greater appeal. Regardless, our Members share the common philosophy that the existence of the Association provides a tangible benefit regarding the HR side of businesses in the St. Croix Valley. By joining our local SHRM-affiliated chapter, you will gain access to: Networking Opportunities: ◾Create a network with the HR professionals and companies in your community. ◾Tap into the knowledge of your peers to gain insight on how other local organizations handle various human resource situations, procedures, policies, etc. Career Resources: ◾Take advantage of local professional development learning opportunities that support SHRM’s competency model, throughout every step of your career. ◾Discover up-to-date information on pending federal and state legislation that may impact your company’s operations. Professional Development Opportunities: ◾Leadership skills development opportunities include taking on a volunteer leadership role in your local chapter. ◾You will have the opportunity to earn professional development credits (PDCs) for attending chapter programming approved for SHRM-CP and SHRM‑SCP recertification.
