Over time, through her classroom teaching, tutoring, and mentoring experience, Dana recognized the need for more appropriate schools in the metro Phoenix area that cater to high-potential students with learning differences, especially those considered twice-exceptional (2e)—students who are intellectually gifted in addition to having learning difficulties. In 2010, Dana and her team founded The Jones-Gordon School (then called On-Track Academy) in order to fill the need for an educational environment dedicated to these diverse learners.
