Founded in 1872, DANNEMANN is the world’s leading ‘seed to smoke’ tobacco group. We have a diverse portfolio of brands and products across more than 60 international markets with a focus on Cigarillos, Cigars & other tobacco products. Based in Bahia, Brasil, TERRA DANNEMANN is the group’s spiritual home. Comprising of over 1,000 Hectares of fertile soil, tended by teams of agronomists and skilled farmers, TERRA DANNEMANN personifies the group’s guiding vision “TOBACCO • EXCELLENCE • CRAFT”. The tobacco crops grown on TERRA DANNEMANN are sewn, cared for, harvested and matured entirely by hand. These leaves are then exclusively used as wrappers for MOODS, DANNEMANN, RITMEESTER and AL CAPONE Cigarillos & Cigars brands. As a group who works with mother nature on a daily basis we are also acutely aware of the impact we have upon our environment. In 2007, DANNEMANN group initiated an ambitious reforestation programme in Bahia, purchasing previously devastated land that surrounded our TERRA. The “ADOPT-A-TREE” programme has since planted over 170,000 native species, with in excess of 3,000 expected in 2017. Encouragingly there are now great swathes of land which are being recolonised by the native forests with indigenous wildlife returning to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
