YES Outdoors is a charity that transforms the lives of young people in Inner London by unlocking their potential and increasing their pro-social behaviour. We work with our young people to raise their aspirations, equip them with the tools to increase their confidence, build positive relationships, advance their lives and add something back to their own community. YES Outdoors was founded in the wake of the 2011 London Riots to offer support to disadvantaged young people, especially those at risk of offending or joining a gang and help them to pursue healthy interests and make better life choices. We offer a wide range of projects and initiatives, including mentoring, employability skills coaching, bicycle maintenance workshops, a homework club, a boxing academy, sports activities and adventure-based trips and camps. All our activities provide a non-judgemental space for teamwork and achievement. Our focus on adventure and exploration helps our young people develop confidence, self-belief and resilience, and this enables them to feel positive and excited about their future. We are incredibly proud of the transformations we have helped achieve; our young people have re-sat exams and passed, pursued further education and successfully gained meaningful employment, often in roles that help the community. In fact, two highly valued members of our team were themselves once participants on our courses- their enthusiasm, creative challenge and ability to inspire other young people is testament to the power and importance of our work.
