Penn Aerospace Club
www.pennaerospace.comThe Penn Aerospace Club (PAC) is a student-lead organization at the University of Pennsylvania, founded in 2014 to build a vibrant aerospace community on campus. We continue to strive towards this mission through engineering projects, design competitions, student-led seminars, and industry events. PAC is one of the most dynamic, visible, and quickly growing student groups at the University of Pennsylvania. Last year, we executed 10 balloon launches as part of the Great Balloon Challenge while also launching seven rockets to achieve Level 1 HPR (high powered rocket) certification. This year, we have initiatives to design, build, and fly aircraft and rockets, while improving our balloon. PAC turns students into engineers by providing hands-on project experience. In the long term, we aim to grow Penn’s interest in aerospace and further increase the complexity of our projects. Through bi-monthly speaker events, PAC has hosted executives from Boeing and Northrop Grumman, Scientists from NASA, Penn professors, and more. While also holding fun social events and partnerships with classes at Penn, the club is bounded by a common fascination for all aspects of aerospace.
