Background We recognise that people from African and African Caribbean communities are three times more likely than the general population to develop type 2 diabetes; that black men are 17 times more likely to be diagnosed with a serious mental health illness than their white counterparts and that in 2013, almost 70% of Black British people reported the least average rating of life satisfaction. They way we're tackling health inequalities is through three core service offers: 1. Hubs - We create transformative health and wellness hubs helping diverse communities to be well in line with our campaigns. Our current health programmes focus on fibroids, childhood obesity & mental wellness, and healthy ageing & dementia. 2. Consultancy - We provide grounded solutions for organisations helping them to deliver transformative projects and programmes. Our track record includes increasing participation in physical activity, raising awareness and encourage interdisciplinary collaborations 3. Network - We help professional health & wellness brands gain more confidence, enhance their visibility and achieve financial success as they tackle public health issues.
