Australian owned private company, Lockliv Corporation, has developed and launched its first life-saving safety and security product, with a range of others set to be brought to the market using Lockliv’s global patent. The first of Lockliv’s locally designed, manufactured and patented product is Buckle Me Up™, an after market rear seatbelt reminder made to reduce the risk of serious injury of children, as a result of unbuckled seatbelts in the backseat of passenger cars. While about 98 per cent of the more than 13 million passenger cars in Australia have front seatbelt reminder and warnings systems, less than 10 per cent have them installed in the backseats. This is the same percentage of the 1 billion passenger vehicles worldwide. Lockliv Corporation is developing and commercialising additional applications of its patented product range, including Bus Seatbelt Reminder Alerts, Pool Gate and Door Safety Alerts andTaxi Seatbelt Alert monitors and plan to expand distribution on a global basis.
