Kai Pono Solutions is a Storm Water Management project that uses a Water Filtration Subsystem. Kai Pono was started in March 2020, by a college senior at San Diego State University. Perks of Kai Pono's Design: Flood Proof Kai Pono Solutions has created a design that is 100% flood proof. A major concern around storm drain filters is their ability to clog drains with debris with copious amounts of rain. We have cracked the code around allowing storm water to pass through freely and uninterrupted. Safe for Public Kai Pono Solutions has an almost invisible effect when it comes to our design. No more large inlet socks that stick out of the drain and into the street. We promote safety and well being for the public whether they are riding their bikes or taking a walk next to a storm drain. We will eliminate the clutter bunched around current solutions. No Moving Parts We have eliminated the stigma around energy and power consuming solutions. Our design it quite simple, and not over exhausted. We believe in a gravity fed design, that minimizes costs and promotes simplicity. Safe Filtration While it can be nearly impossible to filter 100% of storm water before it enters the ocean, we want to focus our efforts on treating at least 50-75%.
