National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS)
www.nhas.org.ukWe are the National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS) and we are here to support professionals who give housing advice in England. We’ll provide you with up-to-date housing and homelessness information and training, answer your questions, and give you advice, so you have everything you need to help people with a housing issue. Best of all, you don’t need to pay anything to access our service. We’re run by Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity and are funded by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC). With NHAS, you can: - get legal advice and support for any housing problem, quickly. We’ll also email you afterwards, so you have written confirmation of the advice - receive training on a range of housing topics, so you can stay up to date with the latest developments in the sector - get advice from our housing debt specialists for queries on mortgage debt, welfare benefits and general housing debt - sign up for regular email bulletins, so you stay informed on the latest housing and homelessness news and policy updates. - join our 'National Homelessness Advice Service (NHAS)' Facebook community to discuss important topics, share ideas and receive updates. * This is limited to people who work for local authorities, citizens advice, independent advice agencies and the following public authority services: healthcare, social services, prisons, probation services, JobCentre Plus, youth offender institutions, youth offending teams, secure colleges, secure training centres, the armed forces. If you are unsure whether you fall under any of these groups of services, just get in touch and we will work through it with you.
