Founded in 1977, Galleri Image is Scandinavia’s oldest fine-art photography non-profit exhibition space. Galleri Image has been a pioneer in the photographic field ever since its foundation. In order to disseminate knowledge of photography as well as creative and high quality installation and video art, Galleri Image displays both national and international art. The gallery presents established artists, as well as spots and supports young talents. Galleri Image has frequently co-operated with other major presences on the Danish and international art scenes. Galleri Image presents between six and eight exhibitions each year. The program includes touring, and externally curated and self-produced exhibitions of work by artists from Denmark and abroad. During each exhibition the gallery hosts one or more events relating to the current exhibition. These events range from artist talks and lectures to discussions, seminars and workshops. Galleri Image has arranged several traveling exhibitions. Among others in China, India and South Korea. The gallery has participated in various international art photography festivals, portfolio reviews and conferences around the world.
