ENERGIOT is a startup company, a spin-off from the Spanish National laboratory IMB-CNM-CSIC. We do smart monitoring of critical assets using a global deployment of self-powered IoT devices. Currently, ENERGIOT is working with Transmission and Distribution System Operators to enhance smart grid applications, reducing up to 20% of operational and maintenance costs. ENERGIOT can monitor power transmission assets such as conductors, towers, insulators, substations, and others. Several parameters are acquired and used to: - Predictive maintenance by applying a health index for each asset to identify when it will fail and when it needs care. - Detecting events such as power faults, accidents, fires, ice, and other local meteorologic conditions. Energiot can improve SAIDI and service reliability. - Increasing grid capacity by applying Dynamic Line Rating. - Integrating renewable sources by helping operators balance the grid's distribution and direction. - Reducing energy loss in the transmission and distribution by avoiding accidents, knowing the assets' conditions and health, and having a massive amount of information about all power grids and their behavior. ENERGIOT uses a patent piezoelectric energy harvester to build batteryless devices. We also collaborate with companies and partners to use this technology to create autonomous devices for other industries and applications.
