CFH - Catholics for Housing (Northern Virginia)
www.cfhva.orgIn response to the United States Bishops 1975 Pastoral Letter, “The right to a Decent Home”, a group of dedicated Catholic laity, together with Rev. Gerard Creedon, founded CFH in 1979. Since its inception, CFH has been an ecumenical membership organization actively seeking opportunities to preserve, renew and expand the supply of decent, safe and affordable housing in Northern Virginia. CFH is committed to collaborating with others to support the development, construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing so that permanent shelter might be more available to serve the needs of limited income families, the elderly and the disabled. Throughout its history, CFH has developed and implemented a variety of programs and projects to serve the cause of affordable housing. CFH projects include: * Affordable homeownership initiatives * Affordable rental housing * Senior rental assistance in Fairfax County * Security deposit assistance * Collaborative efforts to provide education and advocacy The Board of Directors of CFH has 8 members. The staff of CFH consists of the Executive Director, the Project Director and an Administrative Assistant. CFH has the benefit of an Advisory Board whose members have expertise to support the CFH Board and Staff.
