“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you”- Princess Diana Kindness is our very nature, our core culture & a pillar of our civilization. But slowly & steadily, this kindness is becoming a virtue of rich. People have started taking kindness for distributions of rewards or gifts etc. But that’s not the case & hence, he felt a need to take ahead the actual meaning of kindness to our coming generations. Random Act of Kindness is a selfless act performed by kind people to either help or cheer up a random stranger, for no reason other than to make people happier. Either spontaneous or planned in advance this act makes the other person joyful & glad. At times it helps them to come out of their anxiety, inferiority complex & stress. “Act of Random Kindness (ARK) Social Welfare Society” was founded in 2015 by a group of like minded professionals, with a sole aim to inculcate this habit of random kindness in the young minds. Maj Gen Rajiv Sachdev heads the organization. In 2016, with a long trail of discussions within friends & family, he started the project “ASHA” for the widows of farmers in drought struck area of Maharashtra through “ARK”. Under project “ASHA” 5 tailoring centers were established in the span of 1 year. We had been involved in many activities related to farmers, specially in Vidharbha region. With the deep understanding of the social problems, we launched 4 main programs “iWoman Global Awards” iWGA, “Global Innovators & Entrepreneurs Network” GIENET, “Sapiens” & “Young World Leader” Program, YWL. Through these programs we are promoting causes like “Care For Farmers”, Asha and “Cinnamon. All through the early, difficult years, it was our passion and conviction that drove ARK. We firmly believe that each of us can, in our own small way, be the agents of change, and when enough of us become one; the impact is a lasting change for the better future.
