The Banks Foundation, a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization, was formed for the purpose of assisting families who are moving from welfare to work and from public housing to private homeownership. Over the years, the Foundation has provided downpayment assistance to families who have qualified to purchase their first home. The Foundation provides downpayment assistance only to persons meeting the following requirements: · Have received public housing or Section 8 assistance in the past · Have entered into and completed an Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) contract or similar agreement · Income is less than 80% of the area median income · Has qualified for a home loan
