The Nethersole School of Nursing is the first university department of nursing in Hong Kong. It was established under the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991. The mission of the School is to excel in teaching and research and in the promotion of the highest standards of nursing and gerontology practice. The School’s success in offering world-class nursing and gerontology education is internationally recognised. According to the QS World University Rankings 2018, for the subject of Nursing, the School ranks No. 1 in Hong Kong, No. 3 in Asia and No. 29 in the world. Currently, the School offers a full and diversified range of academic programmes, including 2 undergraduate programmes: Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Gerontology; 4 postgraduate programmes: Master of Philosophy-Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing, Master of Nursing, and Master of Nursing Science (Pre-registration); and a professional programme: Professional Diploma Programme in Advanced Nursing Practice.
