Dundee Museum of Transport

www.dundeemuseumoftransport.co.uk

For some considerable time a number of independent groups and individuals have been quietly acquiring and preserving the transport heritage of our local area. However until now there has been no way of bringing them all together and offering the public a chance to see their "hidden heritage". In February 2010 local Dundee businessman James McDonell invited representatives from several local groups with a view to establishing the Dundee Museum of Transport (DMofT). This met with an enthusiastic response and a committee was elected with a view to advancing the plans as quickly as possible. On 2 June 2010 Dundee Museum of Transport was granted charitable status by OSCR (Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator). Many cities across the UK have some form of Transport Museum as a home for their transport history, vehicles, memorabilia, etc. so please join with us and support our campaign to bring our heritage home. If you have any photographs, memorabilia or just want to support us in any way you can please get in touch through our contact page. Although the Museum will be based in Dundee we aim to represent the transport heritage of Tayside and beyond.
