YWCA Hunter Region Inc. is part of a national and international movement which promotes women’s leadership and gender equity by leading social and economic change through empowerment and leadership development to find local solutions to global gender inequalities in 125 countries. Across the world the YWCA advocates for peace, justice, human rights and care of the environment and has been at the forefront of raising the status of women for over 150 years. Y-Hunter has been supporting and working with women in the Newcastle region since 1880 and exists today to support, empower and connect women and families for a stronger community.
