Grandi Salumifici Italiani was founded in 2001 as a joint venture involving the Unibon cooperative and the Senfter group, two important players who brought together experience, resources and the traditional food specialties of their home regions: Emilia Romagna and Alto Adige. In just a few years the company has become a leader in the Italian cured meats production sector. The Group has 13 manufacturing plants in Italy, with a logistical base and a 3000 m2 advanced technology centre built according to low environmental impact criteria, with a further three business subsidiaries in France, Germany and Austria. GSI and its 1,800-strong workforce constantly strive to offer high quality, maintaining tradition while applying strict manufacturing standards, with a careful eye to innovation and satisfying customer demands.
