The Lento Family, whose name is linked to the wine and the heritage of PDO Lamezia and Calabrian PGI, works in the vitivinicultural field for four generations, with passion and commitment, in order to meet international market needs, combining the values of the centenarian tradition with the opportunities offered by modern technology. The technology and know-how used in the productive procedure are based on first quality grapes which, through a continuous processing examination, can actually state a high level quality, as well as respectful of traditions, surroundings and of the highest wine-making culture. Our Company praises a cultivated area of over 100 hectares, divided into three estates: Tenuta Romeo, Tenuta Villa Caracciolo (PDO Lamezia) and Tenuta Galati (Calabrian PGI). In these estates, distinct one from another by location and variety of grapes grown, the main cultivation operations are performed manually. These factors, associated with vineyards’ southern exposure, an excellent temperature range between day and night, and the location in a natural amphitheater, allow ideal conditions to obtain a perfect ripening of the grapes and therefore wine of great character and personality. The peculiarity of the autochthonous varieties, Magliocco, white and black Greco, Nerello and Malvasia, together with the prestige of international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot, allow Cantine Lento to offer a wide range of selected wines.
