Vietnamese Friendship Association

www.vfaseattle.org

VFA was launched in the 1970’s to support Vietnamese immigrants and refugees by responding to short-term resettlement needs. Over the years, we expanded to meet the needs of all immigrant and refugee communities by focusing on youth development, education and support of the whole family in order to help our communities thrive. We provide direct programs, opportunities, and tools to address systemic inequities so immigrant and refugee families can flourish without having to compromise values, heritage or ethnicity. Project RISE, VFA’s flagship program, is a comprehensive model bridging in-school and out-of-school programs working with 300 youth and families at the Seattle World School and other public middle and high schools throughout the year. We also develop strong community partnerships as we believe that sustainable social change happens when we work together to tackle complex challenges. No single organization or community can do it alone. We are highly dedicated to the important work of serving our community, and strive to foster a caring, supportive and flexible work environment.
