GSI is a UK-based consultancy, founded in 2005, providing independent, non-partisan research and advisory services to policy-makers, industrial firms, and academic organisations. Our main focus is on the technologies that are beginning to emerge and show promise of having a wide-spread impact. Our work extends from the development of public policy, and leads to the support of innovation, commercialisation, and deployment of these breakthrough technologies in real-world settings. The key areas of innovation we focus upon include security, ICT, and health. GSI’s expertise in the security realm spans a broad range of perspectives and needs, looking at issues as diverse as international policy and technical deployment. GSI provides expertise in data protection, privacy, and security applications including: identity management, document management, logical and physical access, surveillance and video content analysis, asset tracking, network security, data security. In addition to assessing the technical viability of technologies, which include both established and emerging entrants, we provide insights into their implementation in real-world environments and the related concerns of interoperability, socio-economic impacts, and ethics.
