CAIPE definition of IPE being: “Interprofessional Education is occasions when two or more professions learning together with the object of cultivating collaborative practice to improve the quality of care”. It “enables the participant professions to learn and about one another”. (CAIPE Bulletin 13 Summer 1997). Revised in 2002: "Interprofessional education: Occasions when two or more professions learn with, from, about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care. (Barr 2002) We are a community committed to collaborative working across health and social care and related services. CAIPE aims to promote and develop interprofessional education, research, learning and practice globally. We support; students, academics, practitioners, researchers and people who use services by sharing information and enabling networking opportunities. We recognise interprofessional education as occasions when members or students of two or more professions learn with, from and about each other to improve collaboration and the quality of care and services.
