(Ed Foundation) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting EXCELLENCE, INNOVATION, and LEADERSHIP in public education in the City of Manassas, Virginia. The nine Manassas City Public Schools that directly benefit from foundation efforts are: Baldwin Elementary, Jennie Dean Elementary, R.C. Haydon Elementary, George C. Round Elementary, Weems Elementary, Mayfield Intermediate School, Baldwin Intermediate School, Grace E. Metz Middle School, and Osbourn High School. In 1992, former Superintendent Dr. James E. Upperman, former School Board chairman Dr. Marvin R. Gillum, and attorney Michael Vanderpool established the City of Manassas Public Schools Education Foundation. In 1993, the Foundation was able to award the first grant to Grace E. Metz Junior High School, a complete computer system with internet access for the Science Department. The Education Foundation continues its tradition of excellence by providing scholarships, classroom enhancement programs, grants, and recognition of our dedicated educators. The foundation has contributed over half a million dollars toward innovative educational opportunities that provide exposure to advanced technology to elementary and secondary students in Manassas City Public Schools.
