The Ramon Magsaysay Award, Asia’s premier prize and highest honor, celebrates greatness of spirit and transformative leadership in Asia. In the six decades since the Award's creation, it has been bestowed on over three hundred outstanding individuals and organizations whose selfless service has offered their societies, Asia, and the world successful solutions to some of the most intractable problems of human development. While Asia is now at the forefront of global growth, complex problems continue to confront its people. The enormous challenges call for extraordinary measures which through the work of Magsaysay laureates, Asia has become a hub of successful development solutions addressing the region's key I.S.S.U.E.S. – Inclusive education and cultural development, Sustainable environment and food security, Social enterprise and rural livelihoods, Universal and affordable healthcare, Ethical governance and engaged citizenship, and Social justice and peace building.
