The Jerusalem Foundation of Canada was established in 1970 to assist in, encourage and support the relief of poverty and distress in Jerusalem for all residents of the city, from all communities and cultures and also supports educational and religious projects which are exclusively charitable. The Jerusalem Foundation of Canada further assists and promotes the preservation and maintenance of historic and religious sites and antiquities that are of permanent educational value to humanity and contribute to the enlightenment of all peoples of all nations, while also establishing and maintaining multi-use recreational facilities in the city and promoting the establishment of schools, libraries, theatres, concert halls, museums, hospitals, clinics, elderly centres and more.
