The Spirit of Springfield is a private non-profit organization celebrating Springfield's biggest, best and brightest with family-friendly events like the World's Largest Pancake Breakfast, Star Spangled Springfield, Tower Square Parade of the Big Balloons, the Bright Nights 5K Road Race and Bright Nights at Forest Park. In addition, there are two fundraisers--Spirit of Springfield Golf Classic and City of Bright Nights Ball. On an annual basis, the Spirit of Springfield entertains approximately 400,000 people. The Spirit of Springfield's mission is to create and produce events that enhance the quality of life by providing people with a sense of community, civic pride and opportunities for celebration.
