Mission Our mission is to improve the well-being of society’s castaways as they overcome the heartbreak of abandonment, abuse, injury, and neglect. Our no-kill policy allows us to find compatible homes for our animals without the threat of euthanasia. Company Overview A local nonprofit, no-kill shelter located in New Kensington, PA, Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley cares for the abused, abandoned and strayed dogs and cats of Allegheny Valley. Our shelter is run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and small part-time staff. No fewer than 60 animals are housed at a time. A dedicated group of foster parents who care for animals who are pregnant, injured, or ill. We strive to adopt our animals into responsible homes while educating the community on the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals.
