StreetWise Georgia is a non-profit 501(c)3 located in Lawrenceville, GA. We provide our clients with food, clothing, personal hygiene items, counseling, the tools, and the knowledge required to successfully move from a state of dependency into self sustaining independence. We strive to be a one-stop central HUB for low income families in the community. StreetWise offers resources and support, both in physical and mental/emotional form. While the food and hygiene (etc.) can assist in the immediate and short term relief, our financial classes and job skills courses provide the knowledge necessary for the long-term. Always providing a hand-up, not just a hand-out. We are always looking for volunteers! Our center operates during the work week, 3 days dedicated for client appointments and 2 days for preparation/operations, each day requires a minimum of 30 volunteers in order to run smoothly. In addition to the day to day business, we also have a monthly Mobile Food Pantry which requires at least 50 volunteers and numerous Special Events which need 60 or more volunteers depending on the client registration volume. Training is given to all basic volunteer roles. Opportunities are available in our warehouse, phone center, client lobby (greeters), clothing room, produce and meat stock room, record keeping, grant writing, grounds and vehicle maintenance, and help with our training classes.
