CGPA Group Therapy, Group Training, Group Facilitation is a diverse community of practice and knowledge exchange. The CGPA is a Canadian national, not for profit association dedicated to advocacy and excellent training in various types of group facilitation. The community includes dedicated professionals from health care, education and business that aim to explore and share interests in-group leadership and group process. Those in health care generally work in group therapies while those in education and business use their knowledge and skills to facilitate classes and teams. We believe that cohesive groups and communities can be a powerful force for healing and growth. Staying current with emerging knowledge and tested methods in the field of facilitating healthy groups empowers leaders and positive, contributing group members. CGPA aims: 1) to advocate and educate at the institutional level for acknowledging the many values of working in groups and the importance of training and national standards in group practice 2) to provide and support excellent training for group leaders 3) to seed and encourage vibrant, creative communities of effective practice for group leaders across Canada
