The International School Music Association of Guangzhou (IS-MAG) is established since 2010, by a group of enthusiastic expat teachers who are willing to contribute and develop the Music Education Field in Guangzhou. The association aims to improve the quality of International Music Education by acting as the information centre for professional music teachers and educators, thus we encourage various exchanges and research activities in Guangzhou. With more than five local member international schools our teaching members work across all phases of music education from early years practitioners, primary and secondary phases and local tertiary education establishments. Programmes are regularly organised for our students to engage in music throughout the academic year. Annual events include Battle of the Bands, SingUp!, Crash Bang Wallop, and Pianist of the Year. The association also works with a number of local charities to raise money to support music therapy initiatives and other such provisions through its concerts and educational exchange events.
