The EJTC is the training arm of the unionized electrical sector in the B.C. Lower Mainland and Okanagan, governed by a joint board representing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 213, the Electrical Contractors Association of BC and the BC shipbuilding sector. Our vision is to offer the finest trades training possible to support national standards and to ensure a strong electrical industry. We deliver first-class training to at the pre-apprentice, apprentice and journeyperson level. We rigorously screen applicants for aptitude and attitude, while welcoming diversity; track trainee progress and provide one-on-one support where required; collaborate with employers to provide maximum paid work experience for entry-level and apprentice trainees; and highlight safe practices and effective workplace communication in all aspects of training. Over the past decade, the EJTC has enjoyed exceptionally high levels of apprenticeship program completion leading to well-paid employment. Our training activities include joint training ventures with industry leaders in the electrical construction, marine construction, telecommunications, mining, technology, oil and gas, and green energy sectors.
