Tyrifjord Golfklubb is located on the peaceful island of Storøya in lake Tyrifjord, 40 minutes from downtown Oslo. There is more to Tyrifjord than just the golf! In addition to great scenery, Storøya offers a trip through Norwegian history back as far as the Middle Ages with its links to the Vikings, and the development of Christianity in Norway when the island offered refuge for pilgrims from all over Northern Europe on their way to Nidaros catherdral in what is now the city of Trondheim. A Viking grave can be seen on hole 4, and other reminders of the history of the island can be found all around the course. Tyrifjord is one of the most popular and picturesque golf courses in Norway.
