Character Through Cycling
www.ctcacademy.ccFounded by former elite cyclists Kevin Green and Mark Blewett, Character Through Cycling recognise that there is a significant pool of cycling talent in the Western Cape, South Africa. This has been made especially clear at the longest running track cycling event in the world — Paarl Boxing Day — where local riders pit themselves against national and international stars of the sport, and succeed. The newly founded Paarl 6 track race takes another step to further the development of the riders in this hotspot region, going some way to ensure that talent does not go untapped. Yet there is still a gap to fill, to take the young and enthusiastic riders’ to racing at this high level. That’s where CTC comes in — spotting that talent, and with our specially developed multi-point programme we hone it. CTC’s one core belief, at the heart of the program, is that the most important thing in life is balance. That’s especially true of cycling. Many important components make up our lives, and success in sport should never come at the cost of any of the other parts. Everything is interlinked and each part strengthens the next. This six-point holistic approach is the most sustainable way to develop strong riders and formidable characters, ensuring there’s a balance in cycling and preparing for life after racing. CTC requires support for the founder’s vision to manifest into a viable, sustainable and valuable concern. This support can take on the following forms: EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES EQUIPMENT EXPERTISE FUNDS MEDIA Please get in touch if you'd like to play a part in developing talent.
