Solid wood beams are connected vertically with the use of special spacers, keeping a predetermined distance in between the beams to balance out the natural movements of the wood. This space is made airtight with the use of a flexible EPDM that counteracts with the movements of the wood. Systimber constructions are dimensionally stable and airtight under all circumstances.
