Our solution is a UV light disinfection system, which acts as an autonomous secondary or “safeguard” hospital clean. It is used after the human clean has been conducted. Its ultimate aim is to reduce hospital-acquired infection rates from the current statistic of every 1 in 10 patients. The basic build of the UV light disinfection system is a portable unit with a UV light “arm” that can be pulled out. From this base system, the UV light disinfection system can then be configured in 3 key ways to become the following, depending on the needs of a hospital: - A portable disinfection booth for reusable equipment disinfection e.g. wheelchairs, IV poles, beds etc. - A disinfection booth that is created in a closed-off area, that disinfects areas such as a operating theatres, ICU wards, and hospital bathrooms. - A UV light disinfection unit that can be placed in any room, theatre or ward and disinfect high touch areas and surfaces. The system also has features including a remote turn on/off system, sensors, reporting system and timer.
