Designs in Wood was founded in 1972 by artist John Ulery from a passion for creating art out of wood. What began with hand carved mirrors and armoires, developed into split wood bird houses and then custom, farm tables and furniture which are still created today. John's son Devin and his wife Anna have poured their hearts and souls into the humble company since 2002. It has been transformed into what is now Carolina Farm Table. Focusing on traditional woodworking techniques with modern aesthetics built in, they offer handcrafted pieces of furniture. Clients delight in the hardwood farm tables, love the interesting reclaimed woods we are able to repurpose through hutches and various occasional pieces, and appreciate new metal accents and bases we incorporate.
