The Amarillo Area Foundation was established in 1957 by a group of visionary leaders. It is the only community foundation serving the northernmost 26 counties of Texas. The Foundation provides grants and services to strengthen nonprofit organizations and the services they deliver to Panhandle communities. An overarching goal is to find new and better ways to link the generosity of Panhandle philanthropists to the most effective charitable nonprofit organizations.
