Lift Community Services focuses on helping all people thrive in the qathet region by reducing social inequities and by providing support and advocacy for anyone who needs it. Our vision is a welcoming, inclusive, and diversity-affirming community that is free of poverty and full of heart. We offer a wide range of community services and programs to the qathet region that focus on employment, supportive housing, homeless outreach, food security, literacy, family and parenting support, immigrant services, community justice, cultural diversity initiatives, and drop in services for underserved and underprivileged community members. In addition to providing outreach services, Lift operates the local Work BC centre ("CareerLink"), qathet Supportive Housing, the Community Resource Centre, Powell River Immigrant Services, and the Family Place, as well as The Nook social enterprise cafe and the Dr. Elsie Paul Literacy Centre both located at the Powell River Public Library. Additionally, Lift works collaboratively with other organisations and civic leaders on a variety of community development initiatives
