Southside Virginia Emergency Crew, also known as SVEC, is a combination career and volunteer Emergency Medical Services (EMS) organization located in the historic city of Petersburg, Virginia. As the primary EMS agency for the city, we provide emergency medical care, rescue and public assistance services to the sick, injured and those in medical need. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In addition to providing EMS to the city of Petersburg, SVEC occasionally provides mutual assistance to the surrounding counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George and the city Colonial Heights, Virginia. We also work closely with area medical facilities allowing us to bring you the most current medical experience available. For over 60 years, SVEC has been providing many of the same services we still provide today. Our highly trained staff combined with modern healthcare technology and state of the art equipment means we can continue our mission while offering the best care possible.
