Densho
www.densho.orgDensho is a Japanese term meaning "to pass on to the next generation," or to leave a legacy. The legacy we offer is an American story of how fear and hate forced the U.S. government to incarcerate 120,000 innocent people because of their ancestry. Tom Ikeda is the executive director of Densho, a nonprofit that uses digital technology to share the stories of Japanese Americans incarcerated during WWII. We share our resources to expand awareness of the country's diverse history, to stimulate critical thinking, and to help ensure that democratic principles are upheld now and in the future
