The inspiration behind The Hive 116 came from our children, Meredith & Jackson who we found in college to be spending more time in coffee shops studying than the library. Coffee Shops host folks from all walks of life, with all kinds of different experiences from which we can all learn. We looked around our community in downtown Albemarle, NC. and felt that there needed to be a similar space. Rather than complain about what was not there, we decided to build it. Conscious about Covid, we have gone the extra step and installed high efficiency filtration and sanitation systems to keep the air and surfaces clean. Our dream was to have the former Chamber of Commerce building truly be a place where commerce begins. To be a fostering environment for collaboration and entrepreneurship. We understand and acknowledge the “all work no sleep” mentality that comes with entrepreneurs who work different hours. With this in thought, we installed high tech security systems that allow folks to use the space 24/7, worry free. Whether you are solo or need a private suite for a conference, The Hive has got you covered. We have two dedicated office spaces, along with individual desks distributed throughout the space.
