We are on a mission to provide all Australians with sustainable, safe and clean water by 2030. Clean Waters Australia is a social enterprise with the technology to solve the contaminated water crisis across regional Australia. We have partnered with Watergen in Israel to import, distribute, and manufacture their atmospheric water generation technology across Oceania. We are aiming to equitably distribute the world’s most efficient atmospheric water generators to hundreds of remote First Nations communities and towns across Australia that are dependent upon substandard, contaminated, and depleting groundwater sources and/or plastic bottled water. The Watergen machines produce thousands of litres a day out of thin air with power from solar and battery arrays, meaning the systems are totally self-reliant, off-grid, sustainable and carbon neutral. As such, households and communities will regain their sovereignty, re-establish water security (even in drought) without single-use plastic bottles and groundwater resource depletion; while minimizing health conditions derived from contaminated water such as chronic kidney disease, blue baby syndrome and motor neuron disease. The technology will also build critical resilience into communities which are set to become even more vulnerable because of climate change, ageing infrastructure and Australia’s per person water security set to decrease by 30 per cent over the next decade. This technology can improve vulnerable ecological systems and drive human progress and health across First Nations communities. More broadly, we believe we can sustainably decentralise water and food dependence in Australia through these innovations.
