Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people in over 150 countries who campaign to end abuses of human rights, independently of any political party or religion. Our Amnesty group at UCL works to raise awareness of human rights violations occurring throughout the world by inviting guest speakers, holding film screening as well as connecting people passionate about human rights through socials with other London Amnesty groups. We actively write letters to government authorities and to prisoners of conscience to urge for the release of those whose rights have been breached. We also push for change through organising campaigns and demonstrations.
