Vogt Power International Inc., based in Louisville, Kentucky, USA , specializes in the design, manufacturing, and supply of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) and Aftermarket related services. The Vogt name traces back to 1880 when Henry Vogt founded the Henry Vogt Machine Co. (HVMC), a company that entered the boiler business in 1902 to provide a heat source for its ammonia absorption refrigeration machine (or ice machine). HVMC's Heat Transfer division evolved from the manufacturing of gas, oil, and coal-fired boilers, to the production of industrial and utility-size HRSGs designed to recover and recycle heat from gas turbine exhaust. The “Vogt” name has been associated with a history of firsts: 1962-production of the first HRSG; 1972- introduction of the first three-pressure-level HRSG; 1988- release of the first re-heat HRSG, and installation of the first HRSG behind an F-Class turbine. Other firsts include the industry's first integral deaerator, and first interstage burner. HVMC provided HRSGs through 1996, at which time a BPI subsidiary acquired certain assets and rights to use of the Vogt name. Today, Vogt Power International Inc. is recognized throughout the world as an industry leader with a foundation of engineering excellence and expertise establishing the company as a dominating force in HRSGs.
