Nurtured.Co is a Social Enterprise that develops artificial reefs using safe, low voltage electrical currents to grow calcium carbonate on steel, creating naturalistic coral reef structures of any scale to create or restore vibrant marine ecosystems rapidly. The technology greatly accelerates coral settlement, growth, healing, durability, and resistance to environmental stresses such as high temperatures, sediment, and pollution. As existing reefs decline, we provide the ability to grow new reefs and regrow parts of existing reefs at scale, whilst preserving marine biodiversity. The ability to install NART reefs provides immense benefit to fishing, diving, snorkelling and tourism viability of local regions. To date, we have built several reefs off Heron Island in the heart of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
